SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTISE

SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTISE

OUR APPROACH

Aeris prides itself on maintaining a workforce of highly skilled scientists and engineers, many of whom are recognized as subject matter experts (SMEs) in various scientific and applied fields. As such, Aeris can effectively utilize these resources to provide direct technical and scientific consulting support. Moreover, a significant percentage of Aeris staff hold security clearances, enabling Aeris to support projects and efforts that require specific levels of classified access eligibility. When Aeris does not possess all the requisite skill sets, we will frequently team with other qualified partners and organizations in our network to provide the highest quality technical consulting solution to meet our customers’ needs.

Atmospheric Science is one of Aeris’ foundational specialties, evident by the fact that many of our staff scientists have advanced degrees in the discipline and have previously worked in some of the United States premier atmospheric research laboratories, such as the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). Likewise, Aeris staff publish scientific research in the peer review literature, and actively serve on a variety of scientific committees.  Aeris also has expertise in the Life Sciences, supported by a staff of primarily PhD-level scientists with experience in biomedical science and biotechnology. Aeris’ Life Sciences staff have decades of combined experience supporting clients across the United States government and private sector performing work related to CBRN agents, model development, emerging infectious diseases, biological data science, public health, and biotechnology. Aeris also boasts a strong expertise in data science, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI). The team includes skilled professionals with advanced degrees in data science who have extensive experience leveraging advanced data analytics, ML algorithms, and AI technologies to derive valuable insights, make informed decisions, and solve complex and unique problems. This expertise enables Aeris to offer comprehensive solutions for diverse applications, ranging from predictive modeling and optimization to anomaly detection and pattern recognition. Our organization’s proficiency in data science, ML, and AI further enhances its ability to address complex challenges and deliver innovative solutions to clients across various sectors. To support our scientific expertise, Aeris has assembled a highly skilled workforce of software engineers who have extensive experience in all phases of software development and life cycle management.  Specific areas of expertise include scientific software prototyping, operational decision aid development/maintenance, testing and evaluation, verification and validation, documentation, high performance computing and code optimization. Collectively, Aeris staff have over 6 decades of experience working with and supporting the United States CBRN defense communities of interest. The experience and expertise gained in this domain allow Aeris to address our clients issues effectively and efficiently through applied research and application development. Select Aeris staff members have also actively supported the aviation industry for the past 25 years, with expertise in wind shear/turbulence/ microburst detection, Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR), Integrated Terminal Weather Information System (ITWS), and aviation accident investigation/expert testimony.
