Life Science Analysis & Assessment

Life Science Analysis & Assessment

Our Approach

Our life science experts leverage a multitude of quantitative and qualitative methods to understand, assess, and model health effects, trends, and incidents. Our staff have developed custom models and analyses focused on infectious diseases, consequences of weapons of mass destruction, and public health preparedness and response. Our agent-based SEIR (Susceptible-Exposed-Infected-Recovered) models forecast the spread of infectious diseases, while our in-host biological models provide insights into expected health effects, along with their underlying mechanisms. Depending on client needs, we can either develop models as a means to answer key questions or deliver models as off-the-shelf technologies ready for real-time application during significant events. Beyond creating these essential tools, our team also excels at reviewing and analyzing external literature and models, helping clients derive meaningful insight from public and peer-reviewed information to address key challenges.

Our team of life scientists have an in-depth understanding of sourcing and adapting data from diverse sources. We have successfully employed qualitative methods, such as structured interviews with experts, as well as advanced techniques like machine learning and predictive analytics. Our expertise also includes integrating varied datasets and establishing data standards to facilitate robust analytics.

Our team has extensive experience developing a range of life-science models including:

  • Modeling medical countermeasures against chemical and biological agents
  • Modeling contagious disease spread and efficacy of mitigations
  • Modeling scarce resource allocation following disaster or a CBRNE event
  • Developing supervised learning classifier models to forecast R&D cost and duration
  • Forecasting industry trends in biomedical, industrial, and agricultural biotechnology
