SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTISE

SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTISE

OUR APPROACH

Aeris prides itself on maintaining a workforce of highly skilled scientists and engineers, many of whom are recognized as subject matter experts (SMEs) in various scientific and applied fields. As such, Aeris can effectively utilize these resources to provide direct technical and scientific consulting support. Moreover, a significant percentage of Aeris staff hold security clearances, enabling Aeris to support projects and efforts that require specific levels of classified access eligibility. When Aeris does not possess all the requisite skill sets, we will frequently team with other qualified partners and organizations in our network to provide the highest quality technical consulting solution to meet our customers’ needs.

Atmospheric Science is one of Aeris’ foundational specialties, evident by the fact that most staff scientists have advanced degrees in the discipline and have previously worked in some of the United States premier atmospheric research laboratories, such as the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). Likewise, Aeris staff publish scientific research in the peer review literature, and actively serve on a variety of scientific committees.

Aeris has also assembled a highly skilled workforce of software engineers who have extensive experience in all phases of software development and life cycle management.  Specific areas of expertise include scientific software prototyping, operational decision aid development/maintenance, testing and evaluation, verification and validation, documentation, high performance computing and code optimization.

Collectively, Aeris staff have over 4 decades of experience working with and supporting the United States CBRN defense communities of interest. The experience and expertise gained in this domain allow Aeris to address air quality issues effectively and efficiently through applied research and application development. Select Aeris staff members have also actively supported the aviation industry for the past 25 years, with expertise in wind shear/turbulence/ microburst detection, Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR), Integrated Terminal Weather Information System (ITWS), and aviation accident investigation/expert testimony.
