Aeris prides itself on maintaining a workforce of highly skilled scientists and engineers, many of which are recognized as subject matter experts (SMEs) in a variety of scientific and applied fields. As such, Aeris can effectively utilize these resources to provide direct technical and scientific consulting support, in areas where we have the requisite background, qualifications, and, in cases requiring a specified level of classified access eligibility, security clearances. In circumstances, where Aeris does not possess all the requisite skillsets, we will frequently team with other qualified partners and organizations, within the scientific/technical community, to provide the highest quality technical consulting solution to meet our customer’s needs.
At Aeris, Meteorology and Atmospheric Science is one of our foundational specialties, evident by the fact that all of Aeris’ staff scientists have advanced degrees in Meteorology, have previously worked in some of the United States premier atmospheric research laboratories, such as the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), have successfully and continue to publish scientific research in the peer review literature, and actively serve on a variety of scientific committees. Within this domain, our staff meteorologists have particular expertise in the areas of Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP), Data Assimilation, Atmospheric Observing Systems, Boundary Layer Processes, Atmospheric Transport and Dispersion, Model Validation, and Historical Climate. At the present time, Aeris’ meteorological SMEs include Dr. Paul Bieringer, Mr. George Bieberbach, and Dr. Aaron Pina.
Aeris has assembled a highly skilled workforce of software engineers who have extensive experience in all phases of software development and life cycle management. Specific areas of expertise include scientific software prototyping, operational decision aid development/maintenance, testing and evaluation, verification and validation, documentation, high performance computing and code optimization. Our cadre of software engineer specialists include Mr. Jonathan Hurst and Mr. Joshwa Moellenkamp.
Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Defense
Collectively, Aeris staff have over 30 years of experience working with and supporting the United States CBRN defense communities of interest. Our particular areas of expertise in this area include CBRN Materials, Hazard Prediction, Human Effects, Counter proliferation, Detection, and an in-depth knowledge of various CBRN Decision Aid toolsets (such as the Hazard Prediction and Assessment Capability, Joint Effects Model, and Joint Warning and Reporting Network). Various Aeris staff members have been actively supporting the aviation weather communities for the past 25 years. Particular areas of expertise include Wind Shear/Turbulence/Microburst Detection, Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR), Integrated Terminal Weather Information System (ITWS), and Aviation accident investigation / expert testimony.
